Brett joined ROC USA in 2026 as the Fractional Chief Process Officer.
Brett is the principal and founder of Blue Aster Advising. His clients have included the Aspen Institute, Opportunity Finance Network, as well as CDFIs of all sizes.
Prior to Blue Aster, he co-founded Scale Link in 2020 to create a first-of-its-kind secondary market for CDFI-originated small business microloans. In his time leading Scale Link as CEO, it provided more than $75 million in capital and more than $7.5 million in new revenue to its CDFI partners by selling over $46 million to banks via its secondary market.
Prior to Scale Link, he held positions in program management, planning, and start-ups across industries. As Director of Programs and Policy, he was instrumental in Accion Chicago’s efforts to expand lending more than 150% during the aftermath of the last financial crisis. He also worked with several start-up engineered systems companies and in operations strategy and planning for Cummins Power Systems, a fortune 200 manufacturing firm.
Brett earned a joint B.A. in Economics and History from Xavier University, and has both a Masters of Business Administration and Master of Philosophy of Religion from Yale University.
