It was a Sunday afternoon and under a big tent that the residents of Medvil were treated to 2 ½ hours and 41 Elvis hits with Tony Nett’s tribute. There were a couple of standing ovations as Nett’s tribute was all it was billed to be.
It was a sunny day with rain threatening, but holding off until after the show and folks having a chance to return home. Lunch was available before the show with hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos and french fries on the menu with a wide variety of beverages.
For the price of $10 for admission, the residents sure got their money’s worth. To keep the cost affordable, the addition of the concession stand, a 50/50 raffle and a separate raffle for a tablet and Tony Nett DVDs supported the cost of the tent and the entertainer.
It was the biggest party attempted by the Events committee and by all standards it was a huge success. So much so that there is talk of a “Legends” concert for next year.
Our Social Committee is happy to talk details with any other ROCs interested in putting something similar together. Email me and I’ll connect you with the right person.
If your ROC is having an event, please snap a few photos and share with Mike Bullard so he can share with the ROCs everywhere!
