This year’s Better Together Grant Program is officially under way, and every resident-owned community in ROC USA Network is eligible to apply.
Two ROCs will win $2,000 grants to put toward a compelling community need. The project should benefit the ROC in a visible way, so proposals like new or rehabilitated signs (that include your ROC’s website URL for instance), bus shelters, community room upgrades, landscaping, playgrounds etc. are all terrific ideas.
The grant program has its origins in the October 2010 Community Leadership Institute, where the ROC leaders who attended developed a community grants program idea that would both help a fellow ROC as well as engage new leadership in the resident corporation. The ROC USA Board of Directors has included the grants in the budget since 2010.
Check the ROC Grants section of myROCUSA.org for all the specifics about the program and to download an application. They are due June 11, 2015 and the project must be completed by May 31, 2016.
