Documentary debuts on PBS this month
Mary O’Hara, Executive Vice President of ROC Movement and Deb Winiewicz, Past President of Halifax Estates and ROC Association Director for the New England Region, will participate in a live Twitter Spaces event at noon on March 17, with Sara Terry, the filmmaker of “A Decent Home” along with residents of manufactured home communities and housing equity experts. The documentary “A Decent Home” will premiere at 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. CDT, March 16, on WORLD Channel and will continue to stream on WORLD Channel (FAQs on WORLD Channel) through March 15, 2024. The film addresses urgent issues of class and economic (im)mobility through the lives of Manufactured Home Community residents who can’t afford housing anywhere else and whose communities are threatened with closure and/or skyrocketing rents. This 1 hour and 26-minute documentary looks at the rapidly changing landscape of affordable housing in the United States through the experiences of families living in manufactured homes, @AmericaReframed’s @ADecentHome
