CONCORD, N.H. — ROC USA is pleased to announce that Kiernan Gorton has been hired as a Cooperative Coordinator: Technical Assistance Specialist. Gorton will serve as Technical Assistance Provider to ROCs in New York as part of the ROC USA Direct team.

Gorton brings with her a wealth of experience in community health, working with all ages and populations throughout New York. She has been working in the community health space with at risk-populations in contract management, program management and community organizing for most of her career. At ROC USA, she will work with ROCs and potential ROCs in New York, assisting them through the pre- and post-purchase phases.

“I am excited to have Kiernan on board as the Cooperative Coordinator: Technical Assistance Specialist in New York,” said Dawn Brown, Field Operations Manager. “Kiernan brings excellent experience, including program management, and an energy and excitement that will blend well with the team. She also lives in New York, giving her firsthand knowledge of what it’s like to live there, and she is only 15 minutes from one of the ROCs.”

Gorton graduated from State University at New York Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and from West Virginia University with a master’s degree in school health education and community health education. She worked for the New York Department of Health and for multiple nonprofits in New York, focusing on community health.

“I am excited to support these communities in the best way possible,” Gorton said. “I hope we click together and work as a team, have clear communications, an outline of expectations and have a good time.”

Outside of work, Gorton enjoys gardening, being outdoors and spending time with her husband, two sons and their cat, Maggie. She will work remotely from her home.
