Leadership Institute revamped and refocused exclusively on ROC Leaders

ROC USA® is launching its own annual leadership institute this June based on nine years of successful participation in the NeighborWorks® America Community Leadership Institute (CLI), and applications are available now.

The ROC Leadership Institute is a leadership development program modeled after CLI. This national training event aims to strengthen the voices and skills of volunteer leaders from resident-owned communities. Participants attend with other members from their ROCs and other ROC leaders from across the country June 7-9 outside Manchester, N.H.

As hosts, ROC USA is able to more than double the number of training slots available to ROC leaders, and we expect to welcome 100 leaders.

ROC leaders from nine years of Community Leadership Institutes.

For years, ROC leaders who attended CLI raved about the experience. They loved the connections made with peers, with technical assistance providers and with ROC USA staff. While they valued the sessions with non-ROC leaders, overwhelmingly their feedback asked us for more time with their peers. That’s why ROC USA is launching ROC Leadership Institute this year, geared exclusively for ROC leaders. The ROC Leadership Institute will be held on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University, where we have secured use of classroom space, a dining hall and one of the newest (and air-conditioned) dormitories on campus.

The ROC Leadership Institute is a series of forums for discussing community issues and sharing best practices and solutions to the challenges faced by ROCs across the country. This event offers a broad choice and a rich array of quality workshops and learning labs. Attendees will develop new skills, enhance their leadership experience, and build new collaborative relationships with peers and national partners. Participants at the Leadership Institute will bring back knowledge and skills gained from this experience to affect sustainable, positive change in the communities where they live.

As always, participation is free to ROC leaders, with all room, board and travel expenses paid by ROC USA.

Applications are available in English by clicking here and in Spanish by clicking here. Call (603) 513-2836 or your TA Provider if you have questions. Paper applications are available for those not connected to the Internet. Applications are due March 15. The Institute runs June 7-9, 2018.
