Massachusetts ROCs invited to state association annual meeting

Posted by Mike Bullard November 6, 2017

The statewide trade association for manufactured home community owners in Massachusetts is inviting Bay State ROCs to its annual meeting next week.

Massachusetts Manufactured Housing Association Executive Director Mary McBrady said the event will feature several sponsors who will be of interest to ROC leaders just as they are to commercial community owners.

“We would love to have some representatives from the newly acquired ROCs in Massachusetts,” McBrady said. “I believe they might find the event helpful in their community work.”

She said eight sponsors will be attend representing insurance, finance, manufacturers and manufactured home supplies. Speakers include representatives Mark Bowersox, senior vice president for industry relations at the Manufactured Housing Institute; representatives from the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and Department of Housing and Community Development; several non-profits including RCAP (Resources for Communities and People) Solutions of Worcester; and Mark Conte, an expert on manufactured home installation.

Other vendors include:

  • Blevins (manufactured housing suppliers);
  • Powderhorn Agency (oil tank and septic system insurance);
  • Sterling Associates (individual home financing);
  • Haylor, Freyer & Coon (Insurance);
  • HUB International-New England (Insurance);
  • Philadelphia Insurance;
  • Redman Homes; and
  • Titan Homes

The event is Nov. 14 at Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville, Mass., from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $50 for members and $80 for non-members. McBrady said three new ROCs – Halifax Estates, Oak Hill Taunton and Colonial Estates – qualify for member pricing because their previous owners were members. “It would be great to introduce them at this meeting,” she said.
