CONCORD, N.H.—ROC USA is pleased to announce that an anonymous donor will match donations to the #BetterTogether Fund up to $2,500.
Since March, the #BetterTogether Fund has been providing site fee (‘lot rent’) assistance to Members of Resident Owned Communities who receive a COVID-19 diagnosis. To date, 24 households have received $18,800 in site fee assistance.
Over the past eight months, 74 individual donors helped raise $10,225 to the grant fund, culminating with a big GivingTuesday effort that brought in more than 20% of the total funds raised. ROC USA and the ROC Association matched each donation up to $10,000, bringing the grand total to $20,225.
Just as ROC USA was crossing the finish line on the initial $10,000 goal, the anonymous donor presented the new match challenge.
“We are so grateful for the challenge match,” said ROC USA President Paul Bradley. “We have helped some amazing families so far, but the need continues to grow. We’re hoping to take advantage of the charitable spirit of the holiday season to meet this goal.”
A GoFundMe has been set up to meet the new goal. The GoFundMe also features several stories about the people who have received grants so far.
Members of resident owned communities who are receiving or have received technical assistance from a ROC USA® Affiliate are encouraged to apply for a grant if they are facing a positive case in their household.
