CONCORD, N.H. – Sam Green of Northwest Cooperative Development Center has joined the ROC USA® Board of Directors.
Green is the co-director of NWCDC, an Olympia, Wash.-based not-for-profit that assists new and existing cooperative businesses in every sector and works with ROCs as the Certified Technical Assistance Provider in Washington and northern Idaho.
He joined NWCDC in 2014 as a volunteer grant writer and has worked at the organization for nearly a decade, serving as a TA provider, marketing and acquisition specialist and chief financial officer before becoming the co-director for NWCDC.
In his current role, Sam heads up the housing programs (including ROC Northwest) and grants team for NWCDC as well as the NW Cooperative Fund, a revolving loan program providing support to cooperatives in the Pacific Northwest.
“This work is really empowering,” Green said. “I am excited to bring this perspective to the ROC USA Board. I have worked in multiple different staff positions at our CTAP, and I think that experience along with the understanding of how to run a business is helpful for more people to develop skills so they can have greater power in their communities.”
Green was chosen to serve by his fellow TA Providers, one of two such positions on ROC USA’s 15-Member Board.
Green graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political economy from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, and a master’s degree in accounting from Western Governors University. He became a licensed CPA in this fall.
Outside of work, Green loves spending time with his two children.
