UPDATED: N.Y. ROC buried by winter storm

Posted by Mike Bullard November 19, 2014

UPDATE

Dennis forwarded two more photos from Marilla, and if you thought 4 feet was bad, check out 70-78 inches. Unbelievable!

A snowstorm that most of us would consider cataclysmic bore down this week on the greater Buffalo, N.Y., area, forcing evacuations due to roof collapses, stranding drivers, and wreaking all sorts of havoc in this area that’s used to big snow.

According to the Buffalo News, six people have died as a result of this storm, with more snow on the way.

But we’re happy to hear that Dennis Jakubowski, president of Marilla Country Village in Marilla, N.Y., is taking the storm in stride. The 145-home ROC sits about 20 miles east of Buffalo and is getting his hard, but as Dennis wrote in his email, “It’s only 4 feet.”

He sent these dramatic photos, calling it a “winter wonderland.” We wonder if perhaps that was a little tongue-in-cheek? Either way, we’re sending thoughts of warmth and sunshine out Dennis’ way!
