Northwood’s homepage features several community leaders at the entrance to the 44-site ROC.

Northwood Community became the most recent resident-owned community to debut online as its marketing website hit the web last week.

Northwood is a 44-site community in Ronan, Mont., that opened in 1977. It is the only ROC on tribal lands, sitting in the Flathead Indian Reservation about an hour’s drive from both Kalispell to the north and Missoula to the south.

The ROC, which receives technical assistance from NeighborWorks® Montana, is in the midst of a considerable overhaul, adding a community building and filling several vacant sites in recent months. Board President Mary Sherman said she’s excited to have the marketing website to help further those efforts and add to Northwood’s growing reputation as a nice place to live.

The site features the community’s back story, application info, frequently asked questions for potential homeowners, and a virtual tour.

ROC USA® has built about 40 marketing websites for ROCs all across the country. The sites serve as a much-expanded real estate brochure designed to attract new Members to homes for sale and vacant sites. The service is part of the ROC Marketing Program and is free to ROCs that formed since ROC USA’s launch in 2008. Older ROCs can contract for a similar site for a fee.
