CONCORD, N.H. – Jeannie Oliver of ROC-NH has joined the ROC USA® Board of Directors.
Oliver is the Senior Director of ROC-NH, a program of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, that helps homeowners in New Hampshire’s manufactured home communities acquire and operate them as resident owned communities.
“I’m really excited to learn all things ROC outside of solar projects, from the acquisition process to the ongoing governance,” she said. “I’m really enjoying the learning process.”
Oliver moved to the United States 11 years ago from New Zealand and has a law degree from the University of Auckland and Master of Law degrees in both Environmental Law and American Legal Studies from Vermont Law School.
“I moved here in 2012 intending to stay for one year,” she said. “I wanted to learn environmental law, and everyone said I should go to Vermont law school. I thought snowballs and hot chocolate sounded fun.”
Before joining ROC-NH, she was a professor of law and staff attorney at the Vermont Law and Graduate School’s Energy Clinic. In that role, she worked with faculty and students to provide law, policy, and advocacy services to clients pursuing clean-energy and climate-justice solutions, including the development of solar projects for low- to moderate-income communities in New Hampshire. She has also worked for the Vermont Department of Public Service, focusing on net metering, utility-project siting, and utility-rate cases, and in private practice advising clients on a range of corporate and commercial matters.
