CONCORD, N.H. — ROC USA is happy to announce that Juleny Santa Cruz has been hired as a cooperative coordinator/technical assistance specialist at ROC USA. Santa Cruz began working for ROC USA as a contractor in October 2023 and was hired full time in April 2024.
Santa Cruz will work remotely from San Antonio, Texas, and will focus on both pre- and post-purchase TA work, spending her time at three Texas ROCs – ARNL, Pasadena Trails and Mission Trail. She has a background in community organizing and working with at-risk youth. She is fluent in both Spanish and Italian.
“I am excited to welcome Juleny to the team,” said Angela Romeo, vice president of acquisitions at ROC USA. “Juleny brings with her years of community organizing and working with youth. Her ability to meet people where they are and work with them to help them achieve their own goals is truly inspiring. I am excited to see her in action with our Texas-based communities.”
Santa Cruz received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and criminology with a minor in Italian from Loyola University Chicago and a master’s of education degree in youth development from University of Illinois Chicago.
“I like the concept of the work the most – the fact that homeowners get to become landowners and get to have stable housing,” said Santa Cruz. “And being in Texas, it’s with predominantly Latinx and low-income communities. I grew up low-income and I come from an immigrant family. It’s nice to be part of something that helps people you see yourself in.”
In her spare time, Santa Cruz enjoys painting, exploring new restaurants, spending time outdoors, hiking, walking and bike riding as well as going to festivals and flea markets and watching crime documentaries.
