
CDI receives $50K to build new resident owned manufactured home community

The 5 million dollar water and wastewater infrastructure project completed this year marked the first time residents have safe drinking and wastewater infrastructure since the co-op purchased its park in 2012.

When the owner of Evergreen Mobile Home Park decided it was time to sell the park, they were enthusiastic to learn that the residents wanted to pursue becoming resident owned. For Shanna Johnson, a resident and Board Operations Manager of Evergreen Community Park Cooperative, learning that the park might go up for sale was met with a mix of emotions.
Autumn Brooks, a resident and Board Treasurer of Dumont Community Cooperative, hit the ground running after receiving a notice that the current owner of Valli Hi Mobile Home Park intended to sell. She first reached out to state representatives, and then she started talking to her neighbors and organizing the community.
